Do you realise how important and influential you may be to unlocking someone else’s path? Your simple obedience, leading to a recommendation or suggestion to someone, may be the catalyst that ultimately turns their life around! Someone’s path could be forever changed by a simple comment or suggestion. Here we’ve listed some Biblical examples of where someone’s words, nudges or encouragements lead to total transformation.
Biblical Examples of Influence
- Ruth 3 – Naomi urges Ruth to lie at Boaz’s feet on the threshing floor. This lead to their marriage and to Ruth’s great grandson David.
- 1 Samuel 2 – Eli encourages Samuel to respond to God’s call during the night. He then goes on to be a great prophet of God in Israel.
- 2 Kings 5 – Naaman was healed from leprosy after his wife had referred him to speak to the prophet Elisha.
- Esther 4 – Mordecai urged Esther to speak to the king, which lead to all of the Jewish people being saved.
- John 1 – Philip asking his brother Nathaniel to “come and see” this man he met, Jesus. Both went on to become his apostles.
- John 4 – The Samaritan woman at the well telling all the town about Jesus. This lead to many Samaritans believing in Jesus as the Saviour.
- Acts 16 – Timothy was introduced to Paul by others, brothers in his city who spoke well of him. Timothy went on to become a great church leader in Ephesus.
In all of these cases, the person or people that made the initial suggestion or introduction to another, probably had no idea of what it would lead to. They invited another to meet, speak with or encounter someone who would ultimately bring transformation to their life, and to the lives of others.
Over To You
If you were to recommend or refer someone you know to look into doing a degree with Reign Ministries, that might seem a small and simple step. Yet they could go on to become a great youth leader, a discipler of many young people who in turn impact and disciple others. They might go on to shape churches, influence theological reflection, and challenge society. It might all start with you. Who can you refer today to investigate Reign Ministries and explore if this could be the next step on their journey?
