With each new year comes thoughts about the future. What can I do to get healthy? How can I improve my relationships or achieve a better work/life balance? Are there any new skills I want to learn?
At Reign Ministries, we believe that our degree will prepare you for the future, whatever God calls you to. And regardless of where you end up in life.
Below are stories of what some of our alumni are up to now. They share how the degree shaped their walk with God and understanding of the culture around them.
Lucy Summers. Primary School Teacher.
“The degree has given me a deeper understanding of my identity as a disciple. Not just a believer or a church-goer but an active follower and learner of Jesus. It helped me discover my passion to join in with what the Spirit is already doing locally, and has lead me to start ministering and leading a group for 20-30’s.
There are many different ways God can use a person and the degree showed me this. It also helped me understand that my job and my calling are different things. Whilst I might not be paid by a church, I want my life to reflect Jesus’ mission and hospitality to others wherever He may place me.”
Isi Weber. Basel, Switzerland. Associate Minister. MA in Church Practice, Evangelische Hochschule, Tabor.
“The degree shaped my outward focus and heart to reach people outside of the church. I gained a good understanding of how my practical experiences can help people grow in their strengths. Learning was holistic; I was inspired by the lives of our teachers who modelled what they talked about and encouraged me to lead in the same authentic way.”
Annabel Stott. Ordinand MA in Theology, Ministry and Mission Trinity College, Bristol, England.
“The degree helped to equip me for future academic study and gave me a strong theological foundation for ministry and training. It also prepared me practically with skills for learning in community and undertaking ministry training alongside study.”
Matt Bodinham. Founder Woodstock Youth Work Trust, England.
“Doing the degree really taught me to slow down and take notice of people, and to meet them where they’re at. I have found my ability to come alongside people and get to know them has increased massively.
Studying for the degree was also a real gift in understanding who I am. My gifts, passions, calling, and personality were all revealed during my time on the degree…as were also, unfortunately, my shortcomings! But even having those come out in an environment where I was so supported, cared for, and challenged was a really healthy thing!”
Jon Stark. MTh in Applied Theology. Regents Park College, University of Oxford, England.
“Studying with Reign definitely set me up for the Master’s programme I am now enrolled on. From hermeneutical and exegetical tools all the way through to training sessions on pastoral care and counselling, the Reign course provided me the opportunity to engage with a broad range of subjects, and consider how I might go about applying my learning in practice; all of which has been a blessing in my continued ministry work, and, so far, in my studies!”
Sarah Keshtkaran: Hamburg, Germany. Missionary/Author/Mother.
“To me the degree was never about assignments or grades. The tutors always communicated that what we learn is for the purpose of serving people. I learned how to work with people by applying the Bible to real-life situations. It also helped me to lead by showing me different biblical leaders and also modelled different leadership styles. I would rather call it a ‘school of life’ than a degree course.”
Gregor McKay. Youth Pastor Found Church. Larbert, Scotland Larbert Churches Youth Trust Schools Worker
“Doing the degree with Reign Ministries helped me learn to work with people. I have not always been the most confident person, but the encouragement and support helped me grow more confident in my own abilities and calling.
I learned how to lead others better and the leaders pushed me to do what they saw I was capable of doing, but I didn’t always see it for myself.
Another way I grew was in my personal and spiritual life. I learned to think better about faith and to understand that I am able to do way more than I initially thought. I saw a quiet confidence grow out of me during my time on the degree.”

Hi everyone! I am Jamie Gurling and I started studying at Reign this year. I am 19 and from Glasgow in Scotland. I left high school in 2022 and I thought the next step was obvious, to go straight into further education, just the same as everyone else. So, I followed the norm, moved city […]
As a ministry we have been reviewing how we deliver the degree progamme in a way that fits both our vision and DNA, whilst still providing quality training for the next generation of disciple-making leaders. From September 2023 we implemented some changes and we are excited to see how God is going to lead us […]
“Jesus went up on a mountainside and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve – designating them apostles – that they might be with him and that he might send them out…” (Mark 3.13-14) Where do I start? I had just started my first real ministry role in […]
Is Bigger Better? The bigger your youth group, the better, right? We get a special energy from the buzz of a crowd. We believe that when we’re connected to more people we’re able to have more impact. But is this really the case in youth ministry? Most of us have the feeling that this approach […]
If you were to attend one of our Expand Training Experiences you will hear our team talk about discipleship. That’s because it is the foundational to who Reign Ministries is. During our Expand: Online training you will learn the tools to help you be effective in your discipleship of young people. Watch the video below […]
Where Is God Calling Me? I have a calling to youth ministry. But 30 years ago – I had no idea! I remember sitting in a marquee at a Christian music festival as a teenager, listening to a speaker talking about ‘Hearing God’s Call’. This was something I was wrestling with, so I figured that […]
Exciting news! Reign Ministries is excited to announce we have a new college we are linking with for an undergraduate degree! Moorlands College will be the new home for our degree students from September. For over 20 years, Reign Ministries has played a key role in the development of a youth pathway for an undergraduate […]
Learning from those that have gone before you. “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” writes the wise King Solomon in Ecclesiastes. He saw that life can sometimes resemble a treadmill, where history simply repeats itself and continues in a loop. […]
After a few years of considering this move, the trustees and leadership have decided the time is right to try and sell the building we affectionately know as “the moto” (in it’s former life it was a motorcycle sales and repair shop). This building has served the charity well over many years, as a base […]
