Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is so important to us! The phrase “pastoral care” could conjure up many different pictures, so let me narrow it down for you

Pastoral care happens within the community of Reign Ministries because of two main factors; the people and the environment.

The People

Reign 0077

We have great people in this community! This might be an easy thing to say but it’s actually true. From our passionate, fun students to our committed and faithful leaders. Having the right mix of people within our community enables pastoral care to happen. Let me give you an example. We have two leaders who have been with us for awhile – David and Linda Isgrove – and their hearts are for young leaders. For their equipping, their healing, their wholeness, their fullness, their leadership. They can be counted on to pray and to encourage. They provide and model pastoral care.

The Environment

Prepare for your future with Reign Ministries

We work hard at keeping our degree community a safe environment for our students. Not just in the “health and safety” type of way, but in the way that is based on the belief that individuals grow and learn best when they feel and know they are safe to do so. We intentionally work hard at upholding an environment that means students can come and simply be, where they can encounter, question, grow, try, fail, be vulnerable, be strong – and be cared for. This happens when we are all together and when we are in small groups. One such group would be in their cluster groups. These are small groups of students who meet online weekly to bring support – both with their ministries and personally. Our desire is that these groups would be a safe place to grow and learn alongside some other great people on the journey too.

With the recent edition of ministry Hubs we are now able to pastorally encourage our students not only when they are doing their academic learning, but also when doing their practical youth ministry. Students live and work at different churches within these Hubs. For example, our Hub up in Gorebridge is made up of a number of churches within the area with Joel, the Gorebridge Hub Leader, leading the cluster and gathering the local students together in community. Our Hub Leaders walk alongside students as they navigate working with young people.

From our passionate, fun students to our committed and faithful leaders – having the right mix of people within our community enables pastoral care to happen.

Pastoral care is so important to us. Every student is important to us and the environments that we create and are a part of are important to us.
