Our degree (BA (Hons) in Theology, Mission and Ministry with specialism in Youth Work) is delivered in partnership with ForMission College and is accredited by Newman University. They give approval to the teaching content, class facilitators and level of difficulty, also ensuring that it meets the correct standards of training like any other university course. They determine the balance between theology, history, and youth ministry.
Reign Ministries has worked hard with it’s partners to offer a degree that is not only accessible and understandable, with practical and applicable implications for real world situations, but also robust and theologically sound.
Some of the study areas a student could expect to cover when studying with Reign Ministries are:
The content of the course is reviewed each year to keep it up to date. Our desire is that the content taught is accessible and translatable to the context in which our students find themselves.
Some assessments will require students to look at what they’re studying and identify how it relates to the context they are working within. Others will ask them to reflect critically upon specific books and what established authors have written. Students are placed within Work-Based Learning Providers within one of our hubs across the UK. They are given tools and models that can be directly applied to their work-based learning environments. Students will be required to personally reflect upon their personal beliefs about God, and how that affects their ministry and the world around them.
We are confident that the degree is not only accessible and understandable, with practical and applicable implications for real world situations, but also robust and theologically sound. The course studies a range of different areas, all with the idea of equipping and training students for youth ministry.
Holistic growth of the student is at the heart of Reign Ministries. Our desire is that by the time students have completed their three years* they will have grown in all areas of their life; personally, intellectually, missionally and spiritually. We mix head knowledge with heart knowledge, ensuring students graduate with a greater passion for Jesus and young people than when they started. The best youth leaders are not always going to be the smartest or always have the best strategies. Instead, they will be passionate disciples of Jesus, keen to share their faith with those a bit earlier on the journey than themselves.
*Four years if student chooses to enrol on the initial Foundation Year.
The accreditation of the degree by a university, the passion and experience brought by our facilitators, and the strong sense of family and community that forms within the student body gives us confidence to share opportunities for people to study with Reign Ministries.
