This week (November 2021) our degree students are all meeting together for our second Intensive Learning Week (We call them ‘Conference’!) of this academic year.
These Intensive Learning Weeks happen bi-monthly, and are an integral part of life as a degree student with Reign Ministries. It is here that students receive interactive lectures facilitated by highly trained and experienced staff. All of our teaching is tailored towards application in ministry practice. Each year group will be doing different classes in different rooms but at the same time.
Typically, Conferences run from Monday to Friday at a residential conference centre in Herefordshire. They not only include intensive learning from 10am-6pm every day. But also provide an opportunity to worship, eat, and socialise together. It is a time that students, Reign staff, and the wider Reign family can come together to learn, grow, and share in community together.
Check out the video below for a sneak peak of what happens during a typical Conference:
What Happened During The Pandemic?
As our students are placed all across the UK, these times of coming together, doing life and learning alongside one another, make these weeks special. They are treasured times among all who attend, and during the pandemic, were very missed.
During the last 18 months we did our best to navigate the COVID restrictions, whilst keeping to our values of community and sharing together. Our students were still in their classes, albeit virtually. And we adapted what our connection points looked like outside of the classroom, as we were mindful of Zoom overload.
What About Now?
Now that we are able to be together again we have begun to regain a sense of what the new ‘normal’ looks like for us. And despite all of the extra coronavirus tests and hand sanitiser, our students and community continues to flourish. We cherish the richness that is found in being together as a community. This intangible aspect of studying with Reign Ministries is usually one of each student’s highlights when they graduate and reflect on the course. You would not experience this level of community, friendship and support at any regular university!

As most of us can’t afford a complete wardrobe makeover, we find small and creative ways to give ourselves a new look. Maybe it’s a new haircut, or letting the stubble grow into a beard. Maybe we splurge on a new winter jacket from TK Maxx, or decide it’s finally time to replace that cheap […]
Many of our students have so many wonderful testimonies of how being a student with Reign has impacted their lives in positive way. Take a look at what our year 2 student, Jason Allison has to say about his time on the degree program. Who ARE you, Jason!? “I’m Jason and I am currently a […]
