What happens when you lose the high of the youth group summer camp?
As I sit and write this, the sun is streaming in through my window. However, the school run this morning it was another story and it felt cold and Autumnal. Seasons are beginning to change and soon summer will say goodbye to us.
While autumn is approaching, and with schools and youthgroups well underway, many youth still remember their summer camp experiences. Up and down the country youth groups made their annual pilgrimages to one of the many Christian camps. Many of us will have had these shared experiences. Being surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of Christians your own age, all worshipping God and getting excited about the prospect of a life with Jesus at the centre. The only problem with these mountain top experiences is that we often find a few months down the line, our momentum has gone and life has gotten in the way.
Our challenge as youthworkers is to use that momentum to become the foundation that leads to a Jesus-filled, disciple-driven life.
If you’re going to deliver an effective ministry, relational youthwork is the key.
We asked Joel how they continue to disciple young people after the high of the summer event has gone. See what he had to say in the video below!
At Reign Ministries we want to promote life-long discipleship that is fostered through relationships. To explore the different ways that Reign Ministries could help your discipleship practice, as an individual or as a ministry, click one of the buttons below.
