About Me

Sarah and I’ve been married 12 years and have two incredible girls.  At Cedarville University I pursued a degree in Music/Worship Ministry and also earned a degree and am certified as a regular classroom teacher.  I spent most of my time teaching inner city middle school which I loved.  I’m still called the favourite teacher by many who’ve ‘got my back’ if I’m ever in the ‘hood.’

God called me out of that work in 2002 to use my music and worship training to serve Him in the local church.  I became the Worship Arts Director at a medium sized church in Grand Haven, MI.  There I fine-tuned my skills at developing teams of ministry minded creatives, discovering the ‘secrets’ to healthy collaboration, and engaging people’s strengths to create effective ministry teams. Later God began focusing my attention and teaching me on organic, relationally based church gatherings in areas less saturated with the gospel.  Now I’m developing and organizing our local church plant called The Crowded House in conjunction with The Crowded House network with Reign Ministries in the UK as an outflow of the youth based ministry here.  I’m also lending my experience with youth and ministry teams to the other ventures of our dynamic, talented team.

My Personality

  • I Like: Chocolate, bacon, good games and really good meals with friends, and making good music
  • I Love: my committed wife, marvelling at the wonder of my kids, coffee, and desserts
  • I’m Motivated By: relationships, being part of people’s life change and being told ‘well done’ sometime far from here
  • What People Say: I’m creative, I remember far too many factoids and I’m a food snob.
  • Someday: I want to witness/be a part of a flashmob, scuba at the Great Barrier Reef, and I’ll be welcomed by my Redeemer.

I’ve always liked a good meal.  My friends call me a ‘foodie.’  In fact, I run, so I can eat what I want to eat.  I know my way around the kitchen, partly because as a boy, I would ask my mom if we could have a certain food we’d had at a restaurant or [...] Read more »

In the week leading up to Easter, The Crowded House (a local church expression partnered with Reign Ministries in Bicester) provided an opportunity for our community to discover the last earthly days of Jesus using scriptures’ historical account, art, imagination and interaction. It’s our “version”of Stations of the Cross (which is what we’re calling it). [...] Read more »

That Which Is Nourished Grows Stronger Each morning when I go for a run I can just tell how I’ve been nourishing my body.  Did I eat enough yesterday?  Did I eat the right KINDS of things?  Have I drunk enough water?  Have I been exercising appropriately this week by pushing myself and resting?  Did [...] Read more »
